Montana — Melson Formula
Montana uses a modified Melson Formula. First, each parent's income is reduced by a self-support allowance to ensure basic needs are met. Then, children's primary needs are calculated based on the number and ages of children. Finally, any remaining income is shared via a Standard of Living Adjustment.
